Alloy wheel spoke inserts

Featured Replies

Hello,

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to stop the sun from turning my spoke inserts to a yellow colour. Is there a product or would I have to keep buying new ones?

What does the wheel look like without them ?

Personally when I see such wheels the white bits look cheesy & cheap, better without ?

I never realised they were plastic on these.  You could have the centres painted instead if they look ok with trim removed.

It's the UV radiation in sunlight that turns white plastic yellow.  So you could use some sort of UV blocking film or clearcoat to prevent the yellowing on new ones, though I don't know how long that would last.

You could also paint the ones you have with something like Plasticote which should stick to plastic and remain flexible as the plastic expands and contracts with heating & cooling.

Thank you guys the wheels look awful if I remove them  probably need to get them sprayed, I’ll try the Plasitcote and painting if they don’t last I’ll have to choose a different colour if they make a different colour and  keep them just in case I decide to sell in future.

Now, this is the boy racer in me but in the past, I have had parts of a previous car, carbon dipped', looked amazing and extremely durable.
