mk4.5 focus ST tyre pressure sensor failure at speed

Featured Replies

mk4.5 focus ST tyre pressure sensor failure at speed in one wheel. Automatically resolves next time you stop and turn off ignition and restart car. It think it might even resolve when vehicle is stationary.  Driving at town speeds it works fine. Prolonged driving at motorway speeds causes the front nearside to fail each time.

I will take it in under warranty just wonder if others had had fun?

Car is not even 1.5yrs old. Bought new.

Fail or warn of low pressure?

@DaveT70 says tyre pressure sensor failure. get no reading for that wheel but fine for other 3.  pull over turn off engine. it is back reading again. keep driving at mway speeds for 10mins get alert again. malfunction. rinse and repeat

basically the same as these:

you get the above on fordpass at the same time

Book it in then pal.

Don't delete the messages, make sure in the complaint you get them to word it as "at high speed"

Yeah 100% see if I can get them to honour the warranty on this repair. Batteries apparently they run for the hills.

Daft question why are you suggesting I highlight the high speed bit in particular - if you don't mind me asking

If you don't mention high speed, they'll drive it round the block and say no fault found.

I've had mine up to 150 mph with no issues (Autobahn) so definitely a fault.

Anything wrong in the first three years make them fix it or reject the car.

And, as Alex says

of course makes total sense.  thanks boys!

I'd definitely like to be able to sell brake pads and tyres to @alexp999. alas in uk if I try explore what the ST can do -> they lock my ***** up and throw away the key.

Asked and answered.

@DaveTorq has FORD dealership fixed this issue? My ST 2023 is having exactly the same issue

For future somebody: For me this was a failing sensor. Dealer exchanged it and so far looks good. No more random errors on the dash.

Glad my advice almost a year ago turned out to be correct... 😁

Sometimes the Dealers tell you nonsense, therefore it's always good to check on a forum on possible causes of the error 😄
