Washer pump issue. MK2 TDCI estate

Featured Replies

Next job on the list.

Windscreen washer pump not been working for ages (maybe since end of last year 🤔) but keeping a water bottle in the car is no hassle... Right?

Anyway, MOT looms. Dug out the ÂŁ8 eBay pump I'd purchased months back and gave it a go (after checking fuse by swapping with headlamp fuse which I know works).

No joy.

A mate came around with a multimeter and checked the fuse board... He thinks it's ok, but I'd parked the car too close to a wall at drivers side so he had zero room to get under passenger footwell. It was still on stands with front wheel off at this point.

Anyway, there was less than 1v coming to the pump connection in the wheel arch. Traced it back to next, larger connector further forward in wheel arch and still less than 1v when pump switch pressed.

What's my next port of call? I'm not bad with spanners but have almost zero electrical knowledge (close mates are electricians of sorts), I can buy/borrow a multimeter and follow instructions 👍🏻

Oh I also just ordered Haynes manual.

You either have a broken or corroded wire somewhere or BCM issues
