Mk2 - how many shades of silver were there?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have an 07 mk2 estate - great for lugging life around, however a learner on my estate went into the offside rear door.

My car is moondust silver, but having looked on ebay for a replacement door, the ad says the colour is silver chill. Can't seem to find what that colour looks like anywhere and not sure if I'm brave enough to buy it and hope for a colour match.

Is it possible that silver chill and moondust silver are the same or very similar?

Moondust Silver was the colour Noah painted the ark !!! 🤣

It has been around so long and used on so many Ford models over the years there must be 30 shades or more. On a 2007 model you would be extremely lucky to get an exact match after all these years.

Is chill and moondust the same ? The short answer is no, but they are both 'silver'

Thanks mate, who'd have thought there would be so many variations of silver. 🤷
