Hi, my son has an ecoboost 2014. The car will go into gear when both running and not but will not move? Would this be clutch or gearbox issue?

    Yes.

    Could also be a snapped driveshaft if the car hit a kerb or anything like that.  The way a normal diff works is it sends all of the power to the easiest wheel...which is the one not connected at all when a driveshaft breaks so the car won't move.
