Focus Mk4 Electrical issues

Featured Replies

Hi, All of a sudden yesterday a number of items stopped working on a 68 plate focus with 44k on the clock.

The aircon controls and blower have all stopped, windows have stopped working, mirrors aren't working and the start stop has stopped working and drive modes have stopped ie eco, normal, sports, fuel gauge stopped.

I've had the battery tested which looks fine, looked at the fuses which look to be OK. All these things happened all at once, before this the car was perfect.

Any suggestions? Not sure what to try next.

J

Needs to get the codes read. Probably some sort of communication issue or faulty module.

Hi I used Torque app and OBDocker app and neither showed up fault codes, do these apps show all fault codes or do I need to purchase forscan?

Forscan doesn’t cost anything to read codes. Just need to buy a compatible adapter

FORScan is only free for a Windows PC. FORSCan Lite for IOS and Android has to be purchased.

FORScan, for windows laptops or for mobile phones:

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

The FORScan free Viewer Phone Apps are extremely watered down versions of their Phone Apps with next to no usefulness other than to check if your Adaptor is compatible or not, which is the only reason that FORScan offer them.

If you have an Adaptor that is not one of the recommended ones then it is worth checking with the free Viewer App first before committing to a purchase of the paid for App.

It will read the DTCs, that's all OP needs it to do atm.

If they want more functionality later, they can use Windows or buy the Lite version.
