1.25 (2012) Unusual noise help

Featured Replies

Looking for some help…apologies in advance for the long post

Started hearing some new noises whilst travelling on Sunday. Have bullet pointed it mostly to get right to the point.

Car details/relevant maintenance:

1.25 2012 82hp Fiesta Studio

77k miles

Clutch replaced 302 miles ago

Track rod ends and offside front wheel bearing replaced 383 miles ago

Serviced 387 miles ago (oil, oil filter, spark plugs, air filter)

- **Trip Details**: 150-mile trip (75 miles each way) on Sunday.

- **Initial Noise**:

  - At 63 miles, started hearing a creaking sound from the offside front.

  - No other noises at that time.

- **Break**: Parked for about 2-3 hours.

- **Return Journey**:

  - 15-20 miles into the journey home, began hearing a vacuum-like sound.

  - Creaking noise when decelerating (not completely certain) (same creaking noise as what started at 63 miles into journey TO)

  - Another unidentifiable noise was present.

- **Driving Conditions**:

  - Continued driving at speeds of 55-60 mph, occasionally reaching 70 mph.

  - Speed or acceleration did not seem to affect the noise.

- **Lower Speed Performance**:

  - Once back on 30 mph roads, the car was completely quiet.

  - Drove the car the next day, no noises detected

  - Another short drive today (including 3 miles at 45-60 on twisty roads mph also showed no issues.

Really trying to see if anyone could advise on what to look for etc..I thought it would be transmission related but just looking for any guidance

Have attached videos also

Extra info:

Switching gears is fine

No smells (burning etc..)

No lights

No leaks (that I can see so far)

No loss of power

Not overheating

No impact on stability/control

All videos are in 5th gear at about 50-60 mph

video 3 is coming off and on acceleration

I can't work that out at all.

You could have something in the air ducts, maybe?

I doubt it's induction noise as you don't have a turbo, but make sure the air box lid is tight and there's nothing inside the airbox restricting flow and the air filter is clean and dry.

Then just check the induction hose from the airbox lid to the throttle body is tight.

Other than that I haven't got a clue
