Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0 2014 - Coolant Question

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I need to get some coolant for my 2014 Ecoboost 1.0.  I was in my local parts suppliers and picked up Holts coolant which meets Ford Spec WSS-M97BG44-D.

The guy at the counter however told me his system was saying i needed to get "Pink" coolant (specification here was for VW Audi Skodabut I went with the specification one rather than colour.

I have attached a picture of the coolant I got.

While it still looks pink in this picture (its more reddish in reality), the one he was advising me to get was a much brighter pink.

The coolant in the car has more of an orange/red tint to it.

Strangely, when I google the Holts coolant part number which I did purchase, the pictures show a very orange coolant - which looks quite different to mine.

So, million dollar question, I am good to go with the one I have which meets the spec?

Thanks in advance for any input you have,

UW

Ignore colour differences between manufacturers - they are not standardised. Just go off the spec listed in the manual.

Perfect. That's what I figured.  After draining the coolant, it actually looks pretty much the same as the Holts (Ford spec) coolant I purchased.  The coolant bottle has an orange staining to it but the liquid itself is more reddish.

Appreciate the response.
