2013 Ford Fiesta ST180 Key not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I have an issue with my fiesta where my key or spare key didn't work, meaning i cannot lock/lock it and if I open the door with the physical key the alarm starts playing up but I can start the car via the emergency procedure but again the alarm will continue to sound.

I had a auto locksmith come out to diagnose the problem to which he suggested a new key which didn't work (£170 down the drain), he then came back and read the codes of the car to which I have several codes come up mainly missing communication with various different modules (BCM/ECM/RFA Module/Immobiliser control module/) which I'm not particularly worried about since I have a viper 106v immobiliser which maybe causing most of the codes but one code in particular sands out which is U201F:13 External Receiver which I've seen is a common problem on the C-Max's. and the 13 I believe means open circuit but please correct me if I am wrong.

Trouble is I do not know the location of the External Receiver in the Fiesta but I know in the C-Max it is at the back of the car above the headliner. Is it same for the Fiestas or not? I would like to clean the terminals of the external receiver to see if that will fix my issue but if anyone has any other ideas what it could I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've changed the key batteries several times and the car battery isn't dead (Reading 14+ volts on cold start up) the alternator has also been changed recently as well.

I'm already £170 down on this fault and I'd like to not chuck anymore money at it by giving it to Ford which I'd be looking at £500+

Thanks
