Ford fiesta seat cable replacement

Featured Replies

I've attempted to replace the seat tilt cables in my mk6, however I've lost the string up the seat and I've tried absolutely everything to feed something through but to no avail. I've also tried to find a while new passenger seat from a scrappy but no where has the right one. My question is, how much of a ball ache would it be to remove the seat upholstery so I can feed the cable back through? I've tried to look for videos on how to do it but again I'm coming to a dead end. I managed to fix the drivers side absolutely fine but the passenger side has been a pain!

It's surprising easy

First remove head rests

Reach under seat from the rear and release 4 plastic hooks with elastic on ( they keep the rear of the cover with the pocket tight)

Lift up the back to reveal 2 more plastic hooks at the bottom (these keep the sides tight..there are 2 further up that were cable tied on mine..these keep the sides tight

2 further that go between the cushions from the front cover part..push these back through the cushions.

Slowly lift the cover to reveal 2 metal Rods at the front that keep the front tight..unhook the bottom hooks and top hooks and slide the cover off..

Don't  worry about the plastic squares on top of the seat as the cover will squeeze of these.

My car is a 4 door so I don't have the tilt lever.

Phew....hope that helps
