Engine won’t start. Engine system fault high temperature

07 fiesta 1.4 petrol

Lights left on so battery completely flat.

battery pack used and instrument panel now lights up, but no crank, attempt to turn over. nothing.

red flashing light flashing 1:6 code

engine system fault high temperature messages appears.

Had AA out and said it was immobiliser and tried several re-sets.

but no joy.

keys work fine and tried both.

battery shows good voltage.

fuses ok.

Any help ideas appreciated.

Disconnect the battery negative lead for at least 20 minutes.

When you reconnect it, WAIT for 5 minutes before turning on the ignition.

Hello thanks for reply.

the AA chap did a similar thing which he disconnected for 12 mins I think and then leaving the ignition to position 2 for a few minutes. Nothing happened. 
 

with the test mode I get

 

DTC 1  C100

DTC 2 E510

engine is cold so not sure why the high temp message comes up along with engine system fault.

You need to get the real full Ford diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) using FORScan. Only then will you be able to get a proper diagnosis.

I did this and got it started.

however there was a blown fuse in the glovebox fuse box which I also replaced.

 

looks like I’ve got a oil leak now though as I was tinkering around and pulled out some plug which appears to make some oil leak out.

 

been googling this but can’t find out what this socket/cable/plug is called.
