TRM Trailer Module Diagnosis

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

Recently I installed a tow hitch for my 2012 Ford Fiesta 3D Diesel. I got the hitch and electronics from a recycling yard and I am struggling to make the 13p electronics work.

During the install process I added a 20A fuse to the "trailer module" in the passenger side fuse box, installed the module using the connectors in between the rear lights, fixed the factory parking distance control and programmed both the trailer attachment and trailer module in Forscan. Sadly the trailer lights didn't work. Additionally the TRM doesn't show up in Forscan (it should right?) and the parking sensor doesn't turn off when attaching the connector. The rest of the car works like normal and no DTCs show up in Forscan.

I tested a few things. First I reconnected all connectors and changed the order relative to the PDC. Nothing changed. Then I checked the right light connectors going into the TRM and the rear light and blinker give voltage like normal. I also tried some things and used a multimeter to check the ground. Nothing works.

What would you do next? Thx!
