MK6 fiesta rear spring mounting bracket

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm in the process of replacing the rear subframe of my Mk6 fiesta 06 model.

I have noticed the rear near side suspension spring mount is heavily corroded (photos attached).

I am looking to replace it, does anyone know what the mount is spot welded to, and how easy it is to get to the other side of the chassis to which it is mounted?2springtop.thumb.jpg.0cf19988c12fa1a849663512797f9857.jpg2springtop.thumb.jpg.0cf19988c12fa1a849663512797f9857.jpg

Thanks!

I've had a look on catcar.info, but strangely, the drawing of the rear crossmember isn't included.  If you draw a blank, then perhaps a visit to your friendly neighbourhood main Ford dealer parts dept. with your vin and ask if they'll print you off the drawing.

I'm fairly sure that's a box section chassis rail.  So not possible to get to the back of it.  Very difficult to find pictures but I think this one shows it reasonably well.

Thanks for all the help so far, I think it may be an option to plug weld the bracket on so might not need to get to the back! Next step is finding a bracket if anyone has any idea?

The bracket was never available as a spare part, so it's not something you are likely to find. Any good sheet metal fabrication company should be able to make you one, so long as they have some thing to copy.

They aren't sold new anywhere.  You can either cut one from a scrap car or potentially have one custom made.
