2013 Focus 1.0 ecoboost question

Featured Replies

Is there a way to reset fuel learning? Finally got mine working properly (ish), new sensors, turbo, vacuum pump - boost lovely now BUT when on boost it acts as if it is hesitant then goes then back to hesitant then off it goes etc, almost pulsing?

P0234:22-6C is the error

after a new turbo, new vacuum pump and new sensors.

Google has a very helpful answer...

From a bit more Googling, it looks like that's an over boost fault?  The turbo actuator rod may need to be adjusted slightly.  You can track the boost (MAP) sensor on live data to see what it's peaking at when it pulls back.  Then compare to another standard 1.0EB of the same power level.

Assuming the Code is P0234, not P234, then there may be PID's in FORScan for Desired and Actual Boost Pressure that you can Live Monitor when the car is being driven.

If so then that would be my starting point to investigate what is causing the problem.

Does the car still have the original turbo solenoid?

Did some tests today, wastegates % in forscan, it goes to 94%  in live data

It had `fox 120` set BCM as engine type (its a 100 bhp car), so changing it to 100 stopped the overboost.

However, it still `pulsing` under boost, as in hesitant then goes, then hesitant again and the oscilloscope is a very jagged line

Engines get hot when run 😄

Thank you @RayC333 - replaced the brand new solenoid with my old one and voila, all back to normal service, no hestitation or anything.

Actually have a properly functioning car !
