Hi ive a ford fiesta 1.5 diesel 20 plate .stop start hasn't worked for about 18 months .mechanic said probably the battery ,Dont change it as my job (Driving instructor)not great to keep having the car stop starting as wear and tear on starter motor .tested battery and said when it gives up replace it then should kick back in .i changed it for new one still no stop start have followed instructions to reset new battery .flash full beam press brake battery light flashes several times .Tried disconnecting battery for a few hours .no luck ,pressed the switch near gear leaver still only get the stop start light greyed out not green if that makes sense. i do around 200 plus miles a wk so car has enough power put back in even disconnected  dash cams for a day to see if that was the issue. I'm at a loss any help gratefully accepted .sorry for the  essay .Cheers max
