2020 ecoboost ST-Line

Featured Replies

I bought a 2020 1.0 Ecoboost ST-Line X Edition with 47,000 miles on the clock over the weekend. I unfortunately don't think I can get my deposit back (I haven't asked but I know 99% of the time they don't give it back) but I do love the car. I'm pretty sure the 70 plates have chains instead of wet belts but how much better are the chains than the wet belts and is there anything I can do to prolong the life of the vehicle? I've heard all the ecoboom horror stories after buying it and now I'm petrified

Change the oil and filter every year, and perhaps light a candle and say a prayer 🤣

Should be chain by then, unless you have the 100ps version which kept the wet belt. If you can post a pic of your engine we'll be able to confirm for you.

As mentioned, post a picture of your engine, you may have the later chain in that (But you will still have a wet belt driving the oil pump)

Change the oil & Filter every 12 months, not two years as Ford recommends

Use Stop/Start as little as possible

DO NOT let anyone use engine flush on oil changes

Ford pretty much take care of that by having a system that rarely works anyway 😂
