Focus Mk1 front drop link nuts

Featured Replies

Ahh help please guys. Trying to replace Focus mk1 front drop links. I guess they are cheap ones. When I try to undo the nut the whole bolt turns. There is no Allen key slot or sign of a flat to get a spanner on. The whole thing turns. How do I undo them please?

Not familar with Focus setup but when I changed my daughters Pugeot 107 drop links I used a pair of vise grips, Sorry if you have thought/done this. Alternaatively can the nuts be cut off with a hacksaw?

Mole grips on the back.  Or just cut the nut off with a grinder.

Cheers guys. It’s pretty tight for space in there. Getting grips in there is tricky. Also can probably get a hacksaw on the top nut but the bottom is tight for space.

i would use an angle grinder if you can get hold of one.

oops! @TomsFocus already said it.

Ok thanks Guys. Managed to get some grips behind it but they were thin. Normal ones wouldn’t have gone in. New ones have an Allen key hole. Should make it easier to remove next time
