Cambelt change schedule

Featured Replies

Afternoon People

my daughter is buying her first car, I’m trying to find out the service schedule for the cambelt change.
wondered if anyone knows and if anyone has had one recently and could give an idea on how much.
thanks in advance

Which engine/fuel/year?

Depending on the year, fuel, & how many miles it's already done.  My 2016 petrol Fiesta is 100,000 miles or 10 years, for example, it may be different for smaller/larger engines sizes as well as the above mentioned.

Every 5 years or 62,500 miles.

Is there a reliable way of telling if it’s been done? On the service receipts it’s saying the aux belt has been done just can’t see if there’s anything for the cam belt.

Also I take it that it’s not an ecoboost, pretty sure it’s not.

No.  The Mk2 Ka engine is entirely built by Fiat.  It shares nothing with the EcoBoost engines.

There isn't really a reliable visual test.  Though given these have such a short interval, it would be worth having it done if you intend to keep for another few years anyway.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your time in posting.
