    think it a small screwdriver down one side and pry it out

    There's a bit of sprung steel on one side of the bulb holder.  You need to push towards that to free it.

    Thanks. I managed. Is the left rear light bulb unit supposed to be different to the right one for the clips? The clip on the left bends forwards in an oval shape whereas the right is straight at 90 degrees. Not sure if the clip got bent backwards sometime and somehow on the right side unit.

    They're both meant to be the same, which can be seen in the Ebay link below, I had to use a link because it wouldn't let me nick the photo. 😂  Quite possibly what's happened is someone didn't know how to remove, and flattened it out a bit with a screwdriver.
