Glow Plug code help

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I fired up Forscan the other day, Wednesday, and got 2 codes, see pics, no lights but cleared them and tried again yesterday and same codes.

Can anyone throw any light on these so that I can dig a little deeper?

Many Thanks

I'd say that the Glow Plug Control module is faulty. If it were just a wiring problem then I wouldn't expect to see the check sum error.

Hi Unofix, Thanks. Whilst researching this I also came across your suggestion as to be a possible glow plug module problem, the only problem I have is that I cannot find where it is or what it may look like. Is it, as some have indicated a relay or a separate unit somewhere else? when looking online for a module to buy I get differing units shown. I also couldn't understand there being 2 codes showing up.                                                                                               Thanks for your help.

Hi Unofix, Further to problem, I found the glow plug control unit under the pass' headlight unit, I ordered this one as it was the same part number https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255626616435, cleared the old codes and installed it very easy. Whilst there I checked for any obvious wiring faults but could see none.

Went ahead and installed the new unit, started up and behold the same errors came up!!          Can you give me please, a checklist in simple terms and how to regarding the checking of the relay/control unit? also the fuses that I could check regarding glow plugs?                              I am now at a loss I can check with multimeter  if I know which terminals do what.

 Many Thanks Barrie
