Wheel nut lock missing Mk2.5 - 2010 year

Featured Replies

While trying to remove my ugly alloys. I found out my car doesn't have a locking wheel nut (should have checked before buying i know)

What are my options to remove it? I've contacted the previous seller and they don't know 🙃

Does look like W pattern, hopefully with the right key the nut will stand up long enough for you to loosen it off.

Found it hard to get anyone online or ebay to match it.

Will Ford be of any hep in this matter? since i don't have a code etc

Alternatively i've been looking at this https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-bolt-nut-remover-set-6-pcs/

Garages have all been charging £20 per wheel nut which at £80 is a bit steep.

Anyway, there are proper locking wheel nut removal tools which I would prefer for this job over the generic nut removers.  Those ones may just chew up the bolt head and cause a bigger problem, especially if the nuts were gunned up tight at a garage last time.

Just pop down to your local KwiFit, ATS etc. You're not the 1st guy that has lost a locking nut. They'll have you up & running in no time...

My local dealer recently charged  £40+ (can't remember the actual figure!) to remove 2 different coded Ford (latest style) locking wheel nuts from each wheel (total 8), without any damage. Speak to them nicely and they might give you the key code, so you can buy a new key.

Although from what I've seen, there isn't much price difference between buying just the key and buying the set (key with nuts)!

With all respect, no one is stealing 14 year old alloy wheels any more. Locking nuts are more hassle than they're worth unless you have some very special wheels/tires...
