My 09 focus 1.8 petrol seemed asthmatic so I fitted an aftermarket cone air filter and tiny oil cone filter and was surprised by how much better it pulled through the gears, today I fitted a full hornet exhaust system and it sounds great and pulls even better. I’m concerned because it has started smoking white to blue smoke, it smells normal tho. I put a tad too much oil in and hopefully it’ll pass. I would recommend a hornet performance exhaust system it has the double 3’ tail pipes. I’m quite happy about how easy the exhaust system went in, it’s exactly the same shape as standard. I will take some pics tomorrow of how the engine bay looks with the induction kit and of the exhaust system. 

There is nothing on the inter web about the ford focus style 1.8 petrol 09 mk2.., I am sure I’m the only person to get that standard air intake and box filter out, they are so restrictive and asthmatic. It’s 125bhp standard, but with the remapping, induction kit and full hornet performance exhaust system it’s lively at around 153bhp. I’m going to strengthen the engine bit by bit. I’m ordering a suspension kit and better break discs and pads on Friday. I really like this car and I’m hoping to improve it and make it a one of a kind.
