Ford Focus 2022 1.0 Petrol - Heating query, thanks

Featured Replies

I had identical 2020 Ford Focus model and the Heater was fine worked well although takes a little while to heat up but no real problem.

I changed car to same model 2022 Focus - the heater in this model takes far too long to heat up when compared to previous 2020 model is anyone aware of similar issues ?

The 2022 model has heated seats, heated steering wheel which is great but I can't understand why it takes so long to heat up the car front seat areas my wife noticed first and it's true why does it take so long to heat up ? A short journey into town and back usually 2020 model fine with the heater yet the 2022 model is only just beginning to heat up when we get back home.

I wonder why I have heated seats and a heated steering wheel ...  Is this to offset a problem with a poor heating system ?

Thermostat,  Temp. sensors ?  Really disappointed with the heating system in otherwise a good quality car.

Thank you.

The PTC heater may not work while your battery is low.  So you'd be relying on engine heat alone.

Though I'd also expect the seat & wheel heaters to be cut off with low battery SOC. 🤔

Ford may have dropped the PTC Heater from your model to save money.

Most of us don't have access to Etis now to check if one was fitted but a Ford Dealer will have.

If you check the Fuse diagrams and see if there are two or three high Amperage ones marked Supplemental Heater or something similar and check if they are fitted to your car. If not fitted then you don't have the PTC Heater.
