Thoughts on fuel with friction modifiers additives

Hello everyone,

I am not big on spending time to search information about engine oils nor on fuels, but somehow I found ou that there are a few types of fuels. Simple (with almost no additives), with deterent additives and with detergents and friction modifiers. And if seems the friction modifiers have a huge impact on cylinder and piston ring wear. 

Does anyone know more about this, and would these friction modifiers have any negative impact on the wet belt? I read that they are soluble in oil so they do end up on the oil pump wetbelt.
