Heat Matrix hoses cut

Featured Replies

Bought a 2012 Focus 1.0 ecoboost, both heat matrix hoses have been cut, why would that be? I had to replace the water pump as well. Can I just replace the hoses if it was the water pump causing the over heating or probably something wrong with the heat matrix??

If the hoses were cut, would your cabin not be full of water??

That explains why the OP has wet feet 🤣

Nope, no water, I presume they are clamped  someplace, I’ve no idea how any of this works

With respect, if you car works, leave well alone. If some bit isn't working, take to a professional garage.

Maybe this is the reason for the pipes being cut and clamped somewhere?

The OP description is so vague, 'both hoses have been cut'. Where have they been cut, can he see them? Can he see any clamps on them? There is no mention at all that his heater doesn't work, and to be fair,he admits himself he hasn't a clue what he's talking about. That YouTube you signposted shows how to repair the very common heater matrix in a Mk2, I myself have had that 'seal' fail on 2 different occasions.

If the OP has a genuine faulty heater matrix issue, he should look at doing a proper permanent repair, not simply replace a seal.
