Limp mode still happening fiesta zetec s

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

so my Ford fiesta zetec s a few months ago now was taken into Ford garage because it kept going into limp mode and overheating the coolant was bubbling and wasn’t great Ford looked at it and basically changed the thermostats and the water pumps went out and still was doing same thing so took it back to Ford they then said they recommended a new engine.

I decided to leave it as wasn’t affordable this was may/june time I then took it to another local garage to get a second opinion and they firstly changed the turbo valve and it still was doing it although the engine wasn’t overheating then they changed the boost solenoid and it’s been fine ever since I took it in the garage around August time and it’s been fine  since but now it’s done it again does anyone have any ideas what else it could be ??

let me know thanks

Tom

Hi Tom, I couldn't suggest an immediate answer but it would help the forum if you gave a few more details.

1.0 Ecoboost engine?

Turbo valve - do you mean the silicone diaphragm in the vacuum pump?

Do you have any OBD diagnostic equipment e.g. ForScan?

I assume the engine management light is on and engine won't rev to normal levels?

Apart from the coolant bubbling are you actually losing coolant?

Hi sorry yes it is a 1.0L ecoboost engine

there was a code on the diagnostics check when that happened with it saying over boost and the engine light comes on and went it goes into limp mode even normally when it’s not it feels like it’s not getting up the revs quick enough like you suggested and no not loosing any coolant but once the engine is turned off it’s bubbling quite a bit.

also yes sorry the vacuum pump was replaced as well
