Featured Replies

So iv got a really low mileage focus mk1 03 plate with under 20,000 miles on it. Id like to know if anyone can give me an idea of whats its worth as im not sure if i should sell and upgrade. Its a 1.8 LX 5d (01) 2003/03 petrol.

Edited op sorry forgot to put engine and spec but it a 1.8 lx 5dr petrol

For that engine & spec you're probably only looking at around £995.  If it had been an RS, you'd be looking at a 5 figure sum.

You are welcome to contact Mathewsons Auctions for a second opinion.

Thanks for the info, if its not worth much even with the low mileage i think il just keep it.

Just had a quick look on AutoTrader out of interest. Only 2 cars on there under 40k miles and both RSs at around £25k. Other, higher mileage RSs still £15k+. Otherwise "normal" models all 50k miles  and more ranging from £995 - £2995.

It's possible the car might still interest a certain type of collector** at that low mileage so might be worth a word with Matthewsons as suggested. You haven't posted a pic so we don't know if the condition is commensurate with the low mileage.

** I was at a car show a few weeks back and had a long chat with a guy who had a '79 Fiesta 1.1L with only 30k, literally as new. That car seemed to get as much, if not more, interest than the more exotic stuff on show.

There were a lot of "normal" cars there, attracting much interest. I guess it's a nostalgia thing - most of the visitors will have had a Fiesta, Escort, Cortina, etc back in the day, when E-Types and Aston Martins were just a dream. With classic prices now, they still are!😀

I would think the yearly tax cost killed off most of the Mk1 1.8 and 2.0 petrols?

Am I right that they are over £400 a year to tax nowadays?
