Mk7 (2016) draining battery

Featured Replies

Hi you knowledgeable lot 😁

I still seem to be having problems with battery drain, it's been to the garage & they said there's nothing wrong with it, (its been replaced this year) & suggested that I should take a long drive out somewhere to charge it up, as, although i use it nearly everyday for work the journeys are fairly short distance, i dont use the stop/start while at work, (unless i forget to press the over-ride button or going into flats) so engine is constantly running at all other times.  I have taken several long drives since their suggestion, but it doesn't seemed to of done any good as the s/s over-ride button's l.e.d is on constant again, which usually means the battery has drained below a certain voltage.

So, do you think it's just 1 of those things that modern cars do, & have to charge it every so often, or is it possible that I've got a parasitic drain from somewhere??  & if I have the latter do I need to take it to a Ford dealership for them to find/sort or can normal garages do this??  I would do this myself, but I don't think my knowledge will stretch that far! Lol 🤣

Many thanks for any info

Yes, and yes.

No you don't have a parasitic drain unless you count the dealership draining your wallet 🤣
