Tips for reanimating a Mk4 1.3

Featured Replies

Just bought a Mk4 1.3 Flight from a neighbour, on an as seen basis. It's been sat SORN'd for 18 months as his mother stopped driving after COVID, and they never did anything with it.

Previous MOT history is alright, and it was well looked after, but again, it's done nothing for all that time. Bodywork looks fine.

So, I've taken the battery out to recharge it. The oil looks good.  Coolant levels are good. There's half a tank of fuel in there, which will have gone off, so I'll put a jerry of new in there.

The hoses and leads in the engine compartment all look ok. I'll check the air intakes tomorrow when we go back to hopefully start the old girl

Anything else I ought to think about? Are Endura spark plugs a bugger to get out if needed?

Cheers,

Nick
