Changing the wet belt, worried.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been using my fiesta for 4 years now. Zetec 1.0T EcoBoost 100PS 3d 2018/68. It's recently hit 40k miles. My question is should I get the wet belt changed. Car has ran absolutely fine and serviced/oil change every year.

Many thanks.

Hi Ethan,

Only you can make that decision. Loads of threads on here related to this if you have a quick look around, such as this one recently which includes details of Ford's revised support for premature failures.

Official interval is 10 years maximum, many recommend 8. You're doing the right things, so FWIW my advice would be continue annual service, at 8 years either change the belt if you want to keep the car long term, or swap the car while there's a notional 2 years belt life remaining.
