Featured Replies

Hello there. I have a ford fiesta 2009 1.2 and i have a problem. I have a knocking noise when i turn the steering wheel right and left I already replaced the steering column by my self and the noise is still there. A mechanic told me the problem is the electric power steering column and it must be replaced. I want to replace by my self a have the tools. All i want is if someone  knows i video on YouTube to use it as a guide. I can't find nothing on YouTube. Sorry for my bad English. Im from Greece

This points to the rack being at fault

Oh, found a video for that LOL

The rack in that video won't be the same as the OP.  The Mk6 used a hydraulic or electro-hydraulic rack.  The Mk7 uses a fully electric rack.

I really need to refrain from posting when I know very little - good intentions though, but not always a success 😀

Thanks guy's for the answers. But i have already change the steering rack last year for some other noises  on bumps. The only way to fix that annoying noises my car makes is to replace the power steering column. But i need a video to use it as a guide. Its only has 110.000 klm and all that noises makes when steering it makes me ungry

Those noises are usually caused by the joints in the lower half of the column.  That's all I can find videos for.  If you want to change the full column you may have to just use trial and error to work it out without a video.

You will need to remove the steering wheel.  There are other videos on that.

Then it should just be a case of unbolting the top end where can see the bolts.  And the bottom end was shown in the video above.
