Seat Belt warning noise

Featured Replies

Just thought I would ask as to why the warning noise doesn't come on if you don't belt up. All other cars iv had give a warning noise when you dont connect the  belt. I know it is an irelavant question as it doesnt affect the MOT but just thought I would ask. I have a 2013 1.6TDI mk 3 Ford Focus .

Thanks

Roy

It can be turned off (and back on again) by a special combination of fastening and unfastening the seat belt with the ignition on and off.

Or someone has turned it off in FORScan

Had this saved as I was going to do it a while back, but changed my mind...

To turn off the seat belt chime in the Ford Focus You will need to turn on the ignition but be sure not to start the engine. After waiting roughly one minute, the seat belt light on the instrument cluster will turn off. You will then need to buckle and unbuckle either the driver or passenger side four times in a row. Be sure that it is unbuckled once You are finished. The instrument panel light will flash three times. Buckle and unbuckle the same seat belt almost immediately after. The chime should now be disabled.

Excellent info Stephen. I tried to find that but once again the FOC search engine let me down 🙁

All you need now is for Roy to come back and read your post.

I have read the comments and thank you. I note however that the comments where to turn off the noise. But not to turn it on. Forgive me if I seem stupid but does the actions also turn ut on

Thanks

Same process, it just toggles it off or on.

I noticed recently that the seat belt alarm on my mk4 Focus no longer sounds on the drivers seat.

Passenger side still works, does the procedure enable/disable only 1 side?
