Juddering when pulling away 2017 eco boost

Featured Replies

Anyone help I have a judder when pulling away, doesn't happen all the time but is annoying clutch is not slipping and has good bite, guy at work says it could be leak from main seal dripping into clutch then it's burnt off anyone got any other ideas or is he right and if so is it a big job, thanks in advance.

Oil doesn't really get 'burnt off' clutch friction material so I'm not convinced it's that.  The repair will be pretty much the same time & cost regardless of the exact fault - gearbox off and a new clutch kit fitted.

If it's only happening on cold, damp mornings then it could just be moisture on the flywheel.  Is it a 100ps or 125ps version?  (5 speed or 6 speed)

Ok, the 125ps has a dual mass flywheel, so that may be failing, though I'd expect to hear some knocking if that was the case.

There was a problem with the clutches on these, they can break apart.  Though as yours works fine sometimes I don't think that's happened here.

Realistically I don't think we'll find out without the gearbox being removed.  By that point you'd be daft not to fit a new clutch and slave cylinder anyway.

You could just try and put up with it for now but it might be best to ask a clutch or transmission specialist for their opinion.
