Featured Replies

Morning fellas, can anyone tell me how to prevent the brake shoes from slipping off the wheel cylinder pistons , thanks

If they are slipping off then they must be assembled incorrectly.

thanks buddy , i just bought the car a few months ago , failed mot on brakes so i decided to replace the shoes and thats when i saw the shoe was completely off the piston , maybe whoever done the job last time used wrong size shoes , im waiting on replacements

Maybe one or both of the hold-down clips have been left off. They are intended to prevent the shoes from lifting away from the backplate.

Thanks Mike , the clips were in place but badly perished , i dont think they were in such a bad state to cause the shoe slipping off piston , they still had tension in them , got a new fitting kit anyway just waiting on shoes , cheers mate
