Collision assist

Featured Replies

Afternoon all. I have had a couple of bad experiences with my car recently. I stop at a junction and just as the auto stop/start is about to work I take my foot of the brake and the car lurches forward and the collision assist starts flashing. After that the car is barely drivable until it’s left on the drive for an hour or so. It’s a 2020 mk-4 automatic

You have a Ford with a working stop/start system ? 🤣

If you're releasing the brake before the car has come to a full stop then it will lurch forward in an auto.  I'm not really understanding what the idea is behind that.

If there are cars in front they will trigger the collision assist.  If there aren't any cars in front then that does sound like a fault.

It happened again on the way home from work yesterday. The car is terrible to drive straight after but an hour on the drive and it seems to reset itself.
