Focus 2009 - OEM Tyre fitment

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a 2009 Focus CC, and it has some Triangle tyres fitted. They are noisy, and poor on fuel efficiency and their rain performance is average. (73db, D,B)

The sales brochure i have does not indicate the OEM tyre brand. In the past for my other Ford vehicles, I am sure it was Continetals.

Can anyone advsie me on the original brand fitted ?

Thanks

"Triangle Tyres" - sound like "Ditchfinders" to me......

I do not know if Ford were brand specific for the CC, but for my cars, I use Continental or Michelin.

I'm not surprised Triangle tyres are noisy, those points must make for a rough ride as well.

Ford don't stick to one brand, they bulk buy whichever is cheapest at the time, as long as they meet OE spec.  Tyre models change throughout the years as well, it is very unlikely that the model sold in 2009 is still available.

Just buy whichever modern ones you feel are best within your budget.

I agree on both counts, and all 4 are Triangle. I can never fathom why people scrimp what is probably about £20 a tyre for the most important part of the vehicle's safety in my opinion. They will all be getting replaced with a quality brand. I was looking for OEM fitment, so I can stick to the brand and get whatever their current equivalent is.

I also was curious about the Tyre ratings with regards to noise, economy and wet handling. Whatever it was, I will buy the class leading tyre.

Thanks.
