Hi again!

Yep, it's me yet again with another s/s argument I'm having with my mk7 fiesta 🫣

I have charged the battery, (using a proper smart charger) & done both versions (on separate occasions) of the reset, turning on igition but not engine ... flashing high beams then pressing brake & the fog light hazard lights both of which the battery indicator on dash flashed 3 times telling me that the battery's been reset, but then turn the engine on & the s/s indicator light is still on, have I missed out doing something or not doing something?? It's driving me mental Lol 🤣

Who ever invented this s/s needs to be shot! 🤣🤣

Many thanks again

There may be another fault preventing the SS working.  It needs things like clutch switches to be working as well.  I think you'll need to try Forscan as the battery change and BMS reset haven't fixed it.

Question I would ask is why would anyone even want it to work ?

On the 2016 Fiesta there are approximately 112 conditions that have to be fulfilled and correct before the system will operate. What many drivers seem to forget is that the system is designed to work only when the car thinks it should and not when the driver thinks it should.

Many are fixated on the vehicle battery and the battery monitoring system (BMS) but while they are often an issue, in many more cases the battery is replaced needlessly simply to try and resolve S/S concerns.

Mine's only worked twice so far this year - saves remembering to switch the thing off!😀

First thing I do after starting the car. Turn the damn thing off. Seldom forget as it is a habit now.

If memory serves, @unofix has recommended a 'gizmo' in the past that you can use to permanently disable the start/stop nonsense...
