Fiesta 1.0l eco boost MhEV Timing Chain and oil wet belt

Featured Replies

I wonder how much of the wet belt issue has been blown up out of all proportion on the internet.  A properly serviced engine with regular oil changes should be OK I would think. There are exceptions of course.  I wonder how many  engines have actually  failed through wet belt issues given the vast number of cars on the road.

Everyone seems to want to trash the Ecoboost engine but it really is an amazing machine with loads of low end torque,  low emissions and plenty of punch for such a small unit.

Interesting  to note that there are very few negative wetbelt issues mentioned in the main online motoring reviews. I haven’t seen one, but am  probably about to be corrected!!
