Ford Focus 1.5 TDCI 120 hp - Low brake power gradually

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have bought a mouth ago, my Ford Focus 2015 mk3.5 1.5 TDCI 120 hp and i have a problem with brakes. If i'm travel along highway, when i brake slowly for slow down and after push much hard the brake pedal for a strong brake (for example: the cars in front of me are going to stop), the brake is low power. For have brake hard, i must release the brake pedal and push it again.

I have test also if i push hard the brake pedal when i going slow, the car brake quickly.

Can be hard pads problem (are all Remsa's brake pads and the brakes have disks), brake fluid (replace one year and 6 months ago) or other ?

The brake pedal travel i think is ok, because it not going never to the floor. The health of pads and disks are very well...

Thanks so much, sorry if my english is bad...

The first thing I would do is change the pads for standard specification ones. Unless you are going rallying, standard pads are perfectly adequate for day to day use.

As to your English, it's much better than my grasp of whatever language you normally use!

That sounds like you have air trapped in the brake system.
