Ford Torneo Connect (5 Seater)

Featured Replies

Does removal of the rear seats of the 5 seater Torneo count as a "modification" ?

Do I need to inform my insurers if I remove them ?

Thanks

This is counted as a modification and should be declared.  In most cases there won't be any additional charge.  In some cases you may find insurers that won't cover any modifications at all.  Most people probably wouldn't declare them.

For MOT, it is best to also remove the seatbelts for the seats that have been removed.

We been removing rear set of rear seats on a few new tourneo connects, and chucking them in the skip. They only clip in so why they couldn't do that them selves?

Do these ones only clip in?  I thought they were bolted in?

If they clip in & out as part of normal use then that wouldn't be considered a modification.

(Also, why are you skipping brand new seats, surely you could sell them on eBay lol!)

Clip in on the VW tourneo connects. Think the older ford tourneo connects may have been bolted in. Who would want rear seats on a new VW. Don't think the customer realised they were easily removed or they wouldn't be paying us to do it.
