2007 Fiesta Speedo Dying

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Zetec S TDCI and the speedo keeps slowly falling to zero whilst I'm driving maybe about every minute or so and then as soon as it hits zero it pings back up quickly to the correct speed, I used that settings menu thing to get the digital speed and it also followed what the needle was saying. It has been tripping a check engine light too for CAN miscommunication every few drives (U0073-A1). Most of the time I have 3 codes that keep coming back: U0073-A1, U0121-21, B1342-60.

One of the times I have read the codes (like 3 weeks ago) it had some extra codes however these have not come back since: P0500-24, P1934-24.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It could well be dry solder joints on the back of the instrument cluster.

@rd457 repairs instrument clusters.

The Fiesta ones have larger 26-pin connector joints that don't suffer from the cracking problem.

ABS wheel sensor or ABS module fault
