MK1 Focus MK1 1.6 petrol 150k

Heater only works on the highest setting 4, the fan is also making a squealing noise

When trying on setting 1-3 I hear a squealing noise but the fan is not running

Any ideas what would cause this fault?

Fan resistor for the loss of settings 1-3.  But the squeal must be a separate fault.

Does two Mk1's make a Mk2 ? 🤣

As Tom has already said it just needs a new resistor pack. That's a quick and cheap repair.

Someone might have a few photos they could share @StephenFord 🤔

Squealing from Blower Fans is often the Fan Bearings, more common when the Fans were in the Engine Bay and exposed to the elements.

If you can access the position of them without to much dismantling then give them squirt of oil.
