Note that you run the risk of your car failing the MOT if you change them.

Yes I know. Fitting LED lamps to the headlights of a car that was not built with LED's is an automatic MOT fail if it is spotted by the tester.

I'm sure @TomsFocus has in the past posted the section from the MOT test that tells the tester to fail the car if the bulbs have been changed.

I don't think he's asking for LEDs?  Just better Xenon bulbs?

The usual problem is the projector lens unfortunately.  No bulb will improve that.

yeah my bad i wasn't looking for LED or anything, just recommendations like phillips or osram nightbreakers from anyone who has used them 🙂

Just be aware that there is very little room behind the drivers side headlamp, the passanger side is fairly accesable.

You'll likey save a lot of hassle if you just remove both.

When you've got them out you may as well replace the bulbs with LEDs, I tried many "bright white" bulbs but none really improved my night driving vision. The projector lamp housing helps disapate the LED light just as a normal bulb does and i was never flashed by my fellow road users.

I changed both the mains and low beams to LED, and with Forscan increased the side lights to full brightness.

The only think i didn't do was the fog lights, couldn't get into one withour removing the whole bumper.

The headlamps are dificult at first to remove, but once you've done it once, it gets easier and easier.
