I'm still surprised that the original one went and the replacement one too. When I first started driving many years ago I have had to repair them but since then I have never had a failure including one car that I took from  under 30,000 to 275,000 miles.

In the absence of any recommendations for a properly reconditioned one I might be tempted to get one from the same year of car from a Breakers Yard if not covered by the Warranty.

I’m surprised too mate it’s baffling. I’ve been quoted £300 to get it sorted. Apparently a ‘lupus’ brand of alternator or something along those lines. Just going see how this goes and pay for it myself and if I have any more problems then possibly returning the car. We’ll see, thanks for the reply 🙂

Lucas is the brand of the alternator this garage is putting on for me on Tuesday🤣 is this a rubbish brand then?

No.  But Lupus is a human illness.  That was a poor attempt at humour. :laugh:
