I have just purchased the Noco GB40 as per your recommendations.

Out of interest, after my recent experience, what charging lead did yours come with - micro USB or USB-C - or something else altogether?😀

I have  not been able to check as I did not open it yet but will let you know once opened.

Regarding Battery chargers, do you guys think the Ctek mxs 5.0 is better than the Noco Genius 5 Uk or the Noco ?

Here is a simlple comparison:

Thanks

I'm genuinely curious, what do these £100+ chargers do that the £25 MayPole won't?

I suppose it's like an M&S turkey verses an Aldi turkey. They both do the same job on the Christmas dinner table, just some people like to pay extra for the M&S carrier bag. 🤣

I'm not going to spend another £25 to find out! I've got a C-tek and a Noco (from when they were a lot cheaper than they are now!) and use them turn and turn about on both our cars. Nothing to choose, really, I would say the Noco feels a bit sturdier but both made in China anyway.😀

Is this normal behaviour for the Noco whilist charging does it stop charging and then the warning light flashes and then after some time does it resume charging for a few minutes and then stops again with the warning light flashing, back and forth until charged ?

Charging inside at room temperature using my samsung s22 USB 2.0 C type charging Cable.

Customer service suggests trying a different Cable and if no luck to send it back for a replacement 😒

Not normal.  Use the supplied cable.

that's a USB C to USB C one and I don't have a USB C outport unless I buy one of the adaptors 🫨

According to the handbook I downloaded, when fully charged the green indicator goes solid and the other (red and amber) indicators go out. After the unit has been fully charged for a while, the green indicator will pulse periodically to.indicate maintenance charging.

I left mine connected for a couple of hours after the green went solid to check that this is what happened, which it did.

The MayPole also does the same - odd that 🤣

Talking about charging up the Noco GB 40 Jump Starter here, but yes, the Noco Genius battery charger does the same thing also when you leave it connected after the car battery is fully charged.

Nice to see all these different options available, they all seem to look great for the job.

The one that I bought can be used for Motorbikes, AGM Batteries and also good for reconditioning Batteries:

CTEK MXS 5.0 Battery Charger with Automatic Temperature Compensation, Black

The Noco looks great and I did consider them before.

Does anyone know if they do any that are 2 in 1 that can charge as well as jump as the size looks similar to my charger.

I suppose if there was one would it have a Power cable to plug in to then charge that could be removed to then use as a portable jump starter pack, that would be ideal and also save money as I've just spent £90 on this one 😂

Got to say i have had this one for a few years,ok its slow but i do it over nite but its a dam good bit of kit.

As for a battery booster/starter,as said above, they all work i would say,i had a dear one £80 area and just had a

£20 one and starts cars up to 4L and diesel up to 3Lwell, around that and im amazed how the cheap one works.

Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it.

I have changed the charging Cable and it now charged without any problems.

Thank you everyone 😄
