Problems starting car

Featured Replies

Hi I have a ford fiesta manual 1.6 it’s just had a new clutch and starter motor and recently had a new alternator and a new battery.

i started it up and it started and was ok then next time I tried it would not and I had to jump start it does anyone have any suggestions on what this may be

It every  so often starts and then goes back to not starting without jumping it.

Any fault codes read?

On an initial thought as it sometimes is OK and other times not I'd check all heavy battery connections including earthing strap as a starting point?

IMHO, you are at an age (well the car is!) where corrosion or other wiring faults start to become a concern?

When it needs jumping, is the battery definitely flat or does it behave perfectly after it starts without needing to be charged?
