Coolant gauge not reading

Featured Replies

Hi was just wondering if anyone would be able to help, my mk6 st150 coolant gauge doesn’t work when doing the dial sweep test it doesn’t move, however in test mode I can see the coolant reading so this tells me the temp sensors are working? Could this be a gauge fault and can the clock be repaired or do I need to get a whole new unit?

On a 2006 Fiesta it's very possibly just the solder joints on the main IC connector breaking up. The solder needs to be fully removed and then re-flowed with good lead/tin solder.

If that fails to fix the problem then just buy a used instrument cluster and just change over the broken gauge. The vehicle immobiliser is part of the instrument cluster so changing the whole unit would mean the engine wouldn't start.
