Government Consultation on phasing out ICE vehicles

Featured Replies

Government Consultation on phasing out ICE and transitioning to EVs closes on 18 February. You can download a response form here if you would like to have your say:

We have just brought our first EV a Skoda Enyaq 85 to replace our Puma, had the Puma for over 4 years and it’s only done 13k for whats its going to use used for (a six mile journey every day) it makes more sense to go EV plus it has the extra range for the trips to the O2 etc.

However on the flip side I would hate to get rid of the Galaxy due to the mileage we do in it, we can get from Oxford to La Rochelle Via Portsmouth/Caen without filling up and I guess a modern petrol could do it too. I’m not sure EVs would cope with this

PM BoJo promised a consultation over 5 years ago. That's when I started my 'energy' thread. There was indeed a consultation, however, it was so low key that even if you looked for it (which I did at the time), I couldn't even find it. Then it just appeared in their manifesto as a fait accompli.

I have already commented on the 'new' consultation, but more to get stuff off my chest, I know it's a futile exercise.

I have no faith whatsoever in government policy decision making, most thought the Tories were bad, but just 6 months of Labour has demonstrated that it's infectious, and they're all incompetent.

Where it started...

"Horses for Courses" as I think the old saying goes.

Trouble is that Heir Starmer knows very little about horses and even less about everything else 🤣

BTW, only posted this to draw attention to the fact that the consultation period ends shortly, not to start further discussion on the topic which is more than adequately covered by the existing thread started by Stephen.

I tend to agree, but I look at this sort of thing in the same way as petitions and voting. If you dont, you can't really complain - and I do like to do that!😀
