2018 ford torneo custom engine hiccups at 55_60 miles an hou

Featured Replies

Recently acquired 2018 torneo custom 2 litre eco blue and at between 55_ 60 miles an hour the service light comes on even though Ford have just serviced in last 2 weeks. They say that it's injectors need replacing which they said was diagnosed during service. However it has only done 20,000 miles. I am unsure about this as they cannot give me a diagnostic readout of the problem which is strange. Experience would tell me that if it was this issue it would show throughout the entire powerband and would throw up an engine Amber warning and not s service light would  this be the case? Can anyone help? Please !

The "Engine Service Now" warning is Ford's very poor warning message which actually means "Engine Malfunction, take to garage NOW !!"

It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the car wanting a service.

I think the Geordie warning message of "Engine Buggered, get help lad" would be more useful 🤣

Hi thank you! I kind of guessed that it may be a one size fits all kind of sensors ha ha. Seriously though during the service they quoted for injectors and a wet power belt and my worry is that they will try working their way around the engine bay trying to rebuilt it and wasting my cash. Does it sound like these two issues may be the culprit after just 20,000 miles and full service history?
