Multiple warning lights and dashboard fault. Help needed.

Featured Replies

Good evening.

2014 ford focus 1.5 diesel titanium x

My wife came home today saying that her steering suddenly felt heavy and a load of warning lights have come on the dash. I have taken out the car for a drive and it is throwing up errors for hill start assist, active city assist, parking aid/park pilot malfunction and tyre sensors not detected. The physical buttons for parking sensors and auto stop start are also illuminated and can't be turned on/off.

When driving the vehicle, the speed is not registering and is constantly showing as 0mph with no movement from the needle, and upon trying to turn the vehicle off using the push button, it will not turn off immediately and takes a few strong presses before it turns off.

I have read the dtc's on forscan and have a number of issues which I have screenshot and put on here.

I also tried recording the live data when moving, which showed three sensors reading the same, however the rfw was different. I took a picture once I stopped which shows the discrepancy.

We only had an issue last month where it wouldn't start and was kicking out a load of smoke, which the garage struggled to diagnose, however they eventually changed a part and it was back to normal until today. I'm not sure what that was at the moment as I'm out and about, but if someone who can help thinks it's relevant, I'll dig out the paperwork for what was done.

If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

One of two problems:

  • The car battery has a very low State Of Charge, and is starting to fail (Or needs a good charge for at least 12 hours)
  • The car has a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor.

Replace the battery if it is more than 4 years old.

Clear all the DTC's and re-read them once you know the SOC is good.

Hi there Kevin

wondered if you got a fix to your warning light issue?

I have a similar series of faults showing up on my own Focus, Garage appear to be struggling to identify the problem

Thanks
